Unblock Wikipedia: Bypass the Blackouts
Wikipedia is offline today. I was chatting about this blackout with Nate and he told me it was just simple javascript. I took a look at Wikipedia… and sure enough, it’s just a javascript overlay. So, here is a silly and simple video on how to bypass the blackout. I imagine that other sites will use the same method (redit, etc.) so this technique should work fine for those as well.

Good to know. Nate told me last night that it was some sort of script and there was a way to bypass it (referring to Wikipedia)…but this was after I ctrl+a ctrl+v’ed the shit out of Wikipedia for the homework I have due today. XD

I thought Google was going to take part in the blackout. Turns out they didn’t. For a frightful minute I thought I’d have to use bing!

Thats probably why they didnt do it!
but alas, I’m just abstaining from wiki and reddit today. Its a bullshit law, and I don’t have to preach. 3 Million Americans and counting speak for themselves.

I just wish google and facebook had kept their word and actually went through with the blackout.

I like how some websites are taking a part in this to raise awareness though. I signed the petition on google and sent a letter (yes, a letter) to every senator in VA.

You realize each state only gets two senators, right?

Have you looked at googles logo today.

Yeah, but the whole point of the blackout was that the sites were supposed to be unusable.

yes. It’s just the same as normal…
