   first off… i love how the videos are funny again…. the tiger tech updates just were not the same as… well, this.

   anyway, on topic with the video…. definitely like ‘the tek’ considering it ties in to tek syndicate.

   the shitty performance on the bulldozer is sort of a windows issue as well, the way the OS handles threading is shit… granted, AMD should have designed it differently knowing this, as windows is the main market share…. however if you look at linux benchmarks, it is quite a bit better. (windows has released 2 patches…. but all windows IS is patches, so it rly didn’t help much)

   apple complains android stole design elements,new iPhone os now has a task bar…. like android!

   moving onto windows 8…. i think a lot more all in one computers will be made, and monitors that are supposed to lay down on the desk (angled up slightly like a keyboard…). definitely more casual games, but i dont think shooters, RTS or RPG games are going anywhere. my frind has a touch screen all in one and he put the developer preview of winblows 8 on it… im NOT impressed. i have not been playing games lately, so im thinking of making the switch to linux as my primary OS… which i probably will do when 8 catches on.

   Apple is still in a serious shit over the “i” naming. First, what Logan said about “Cisco” and the “iPhone” naming dispute. But here’s a funny fact I’ve discovered diuring the 1st days of my CCNA class:

   Note who made that OS. Apple is going to get one heavy, buttraping lawsuit sometime. That’s 3 names they’ve infringed so far.

   BTW I find the “IOS” very useful

   Love “The Tek”! Can’t wait for more episodes. Wasn’t a fan of Tech Update because of how… Stuffy (I guess is the word I’m looking for) it seemed.

   When it comes to touch screen devices, I think at first you’ll have the traditional vertical touch monitors which will be cumbersome, and the laying flat touch monitors that will kill your neck, but I think where touch will take off is in peripherals. I can foresee that they will (at least attempt to be) a replacement for both the keyboard and mouse; a low-res screen about the size of an iPad that can be easily customized with any color scheme, font and layout you want. Imagine if most or all of the stuff on your HUD in games that can clutter the screen were down on this flat keyboard. We’re already seeing this kind of stuff with Nintendo’s Wii U and I believe I’ve seen people who’ve used the iPad and Android tablets similarly.

   As for films, yeah, the well is dry. But man do I love that a movie like “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” can be made these days. I love off-the-wall crazy stuff like that, so that actually makes me think the future looks a little brighter. For me, this is just behind Prometheus as my 2nd most-looked-forward-to film of the year.

   Great first ep. I can’t see the heartbeat password becoming too big, it will be interesting to see if they pull it off though. I’m also liking The Tek as the name for the show, looking forward to more.

    I don’t think touchscreen will ever replace mouse and keyboard. There will always be a need for high quality stand alone peripherals. Just look at mechanical keyboards making a comeback.
