PowerColor Radeon HD 6870 x2 GPU Review and Benchmark
The new PowerColor Radeon 6870×2 landed on my desk so I did what any mad scientist would do. I tried to kill it with Furmark. I could not get this monster any hotter than 70°C. That’s really impressive. The price is a little high compared to two independent 6870 cards but the performance was better than expected. It ran cooler and faster than two 6870′s in crossfire. It was almost as fast as the GTX 590. Check out the video. Also… We were the first video online with this GPU.

don’t you mean quad data rate for effective? It should be 4200MHz for memory
great video though

there is 1gb per gpu… each 1gb is at double data rate… so in all it should be 4200mhz
i believe that is where the confusion is coming in at least….
also, thats damn cool for a x2 card….. i have 2 4890′s and at max load with 100% fan, one is hitting 86c and the other gets up to 79-80

DDR5 quad pumps for effective, not double
or thats what I’ve been told, I know on newegg when they post the effective for most GDDR5 cards its in the 4000s

I’d like to see this vs. EVGA GTX 460 2Win

This would probably beat it in everything.
Because I know my two 6850s beat two 460s in a lot of games, so two 6870s would be significantly better.

There is still $150 difference. And 460 2Win overclocks pretty well
