Asus current motherboard supported the Bulldozer with BIOS update
For those who already own or plan to buy an AMD-based computer system motherboard for socket AM3 will be good news when Asus reveals that some models need only update the BIOS to also manage next-generation processors for Socket AM3 +, by all accounts FX series with the Bulldozer architecture.
That awesome so now you don’t have to buy a new motherboard to upgrade the processor.

Hm, wonder if the chip would take any kind of performance decrease from this kind of thing, I assumed there would be more to AM3+ boards that couldn’t just be added with a bios flash.

My board is listed there
But I find this slightly strange? Will there be any disadvantages? And why is is only Asus boards that will work?
I was thinking of buying sandy bridge, but this has made me have second thoughts
