8. Syndicate – I’m not too sure about this one, and I don’t like that it’s taking the Fallout 3 approach to “great games people want sequels to”… But hey, I love a good Deus Ex-style game and if this can offer that, I’ll go for it.

7. Tribes Ascend – It would be my first Tribes game, so I’m not too sure about this one either but I love that old super-fast-and-crazy multiplayer approach to first-person shooters that I think we’ve lost for too long.

6. Mechwarrior Online – Not sure if this will actually come out in 2012 even if that is what they say, but regardless, I’ve been waiting for another Mechwarrior for years. Mech combat should not be dead!

5. Borderlands 2 – A minigun in one hand and a rocket launcher in the other. Sexual Tyrannosaurus. Pure exhilarating action. I dug the original Borderlands and this seems to be a big improvement over an already really cool game.

4. Prey 2 – This looks awesome, which is hard to believe since I LOATHED the original Prey. Again, Deus Ex-inspired games are my thing. This is less of an RPG and more of a shooter though, which is fine by me since I find a little RPG is better than no RPG.

3. Dishonored – Arx Fatalis is one of my favorite games and when I heard Harvey Smith was the designer and how amazingly Deus Ex-y this was, I felt like shooting into outer space. This is a dream game, but so little is known about it as of yet so I can’t say it’s my number one.

2. Bioshock Infinite – Huge fan of System Shock and Bioshock. This game looks insane and perhaps if you check out the 15-minute trailer, you’ll see why. A word of warning though for those who haven’t watched it: it kind of contains a spoiler regarding Elizabeth’s powers.

1. Mass Effect 3 – I guess I’m most excited about this since it won’t be long until it’s out. Huge Mass Effect fan since I’m more into deep, complex characters than a deep, complex world (a-la The Elder Scrolls, which don’t get me wrong, I love that approach too). This LONG 45-minute gameplay video also contains some small spoilers.

World pvp normally ends up in:
A player 10+ levels above the suggested level for the area ganking questing players.
A player with full pvp set ganking players that only want to quest.
A 5 vs 2 or at least someone who hangs out with a healer 100% of the time ganking people who only care about questing.
Battlegrounds all the way for me.
