SOPA/PIPA Thrown Out - Megaupload Makes Its Return

(8 posts)
  1. Early this morning SOPA/PIPA were thrown out by the U.S. Government "in light of recent events". The amount of opposition worldwide even surprised me. It's about time our government learned that they don't run the internet, WE do.
Numerous protests in DC and the massive DDOS attacks by Anonymous are without a doubt the reason the government was so fast to pull the plug.

In other news, Megaupload is already making a return! This time, the site has nothing to do with the United States, meaning that it is safe from this corrupt government.
The new site can be accessed here: http://109.236.83.66/

P.S. - sorry for the lack of links or detail. I'm writing this from my phone lol

    To quote a great movie:

"Governments should be afraid of their people."

  3. You can bet your ass that this bill is going to come up again under a different name though. It'd be nice if we had gotten this kind of response for the NDAA.

  5. Apparently the U.S. Government still has all the files from Megaupload. You know what that means? They have EVERYONE'S download/upload history.

Yep, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried fining and throwing everyone in jail.

Eh? Why would they simulate Sopa? That's not what any of the news sites say, and the founders were even charged, so it's hardly a simulation.
