NCIC sucks (rant)

    Don't ever use and NCIC payphone. My dad made a collect call from one because he missed his bus and doesn't have a cell phone. They put a 30 dollar hold on my card then charged me 11.66 cents for according to them a 2 min 50 second call which couldnt have been over 2 mins. They told me it costs 10 dollars for the first minute and 80 cents or something for additional. According to them they also tell you the rates which i didn't press the right option apparently. Anyway im gonna try and dispute it see what happens.

    Oh yeah, they still do. I used a Verizon payphone once and ended up being charged $23 for a 3 minute call.

    I live in a very rural area, and in some places we don't even get any signal. There are payphones dotted areound the countryside. I've used them fairly frequently, I hope our classic red "telephone box" doesn't go away soon...

    ...because I love them :D

    Nope. Last time I saw a payphone was in my high school during my sophomore year. They got rid of them when they remodeled, and I haven't seen one anywhere since.

    $23 I thought 11 was bad. My dad needs to get a cell phone haha

    but yea they took the ones out of our school a couple years ago probably because they don't make any money lol.

    Here in New Zealand, our phonebooths back in the day were almost similar to those. I happen to have a door of those booths and even writing from youths back in the 70s to 90s! Did not read them carefully though as I never had a chance to but it is a treasure.

    Oh nostalgia, you're the best adjective I've ever heard. Fuck modern world :D

    Also, yes we still have payphones in NZ ^_^
