Malware steals bitcoins

Recently, you might’ve heard that the authourities are chasing down against bitcoins and that caused a bit of a media attention. But now, a new malware called Infostealer.Coinbit (according to Symantec) is a trojan that was designed to steal (possibly) all of your bitcoins. Here’s how it works: Once the trojan is in your system, it starts invading your bitcoin wallet . Then it emails your wallet’s crypto-key to the attacker in Poland and finally the attacker or creator can unencypt the key, leading to all of your bitcoins snatched.

So if you want to avoid that, Symantec recommends that you use an “impossible” key to prevent your wallet against invasion.

ooooor…. you can just NOT be retarded….

only 2 ways to get a virus… go to a website that tries to run a java applet on you… which then you have to accept….
or the more common one, downloading a binary and running it….

aka, dont download exe’s off of porn websites….

Well I decided to post it anyway since it’s unusual but not suprising for someone to make a malware that steals your bitcoins. It’s a sign that bitcoins is becomming popular like Internet 2011.

Is anyone here still taking part of Bitcoin in any fashion? Mining, investing, etc? It’d be interesting to see! (I’ve been in it ever since ztrain posted about it, lol)
